FEB 2017 – What a month January was!
What a month January was! The BIG move took place and the Redlands Chamber of Commerce was officially moved to 47 N. First Street on January 2nd. We all know moves can be stressful and sometimes even traumatic, but this one was “smooth as silk”. It began with Jeff Dill, Inland Core Commercial finding us the perfect location, still in downtown Redlands. From there boxes were packed, furniture that was not going to make the move was donated to The Blessing Center and Habitat for Humanity Restore, both organizations sending trucks and personnel to transport the furniture.
Mike and Brina Limon, Storage West provided a storage unit for items that would be used over the course of the year but were not needed on an everyday basis. The staff boxed and readied everything else that was going to go to the new offices.
On moving day, December 29th, Todd Underwood, Allstate Insurance, his son Mike, Scott Welsh, Welsh Insurance Services and Mike Hokana, Office Solutions, loaded the rented truck in record time, arranging and packing in one amazing hour.
Thanks to Del and Pam Armstrong, Stor-N-Lock, the truck was moved to the storage lot for the weekend until the “moving crew” could regroup on Monday morning and move in.
On January 2, 2017, once again Todd Underwood, son Mike, Scott Welsh, Mike Hokana and Mike Reynolds met the staff and truck at 47 N. First Street. In a record 58 minutes the truck was empty. What a crew, what a move! Our hats are off to all who have worked so tirelessly to relocate the Chamber; from the Board of Directors, to the moving crew, to those that will repurpose office furniture, it was a Herculean effort executed flawlessly.
Since the 2nd the settling process has been seamless, member brochures and business cards are back on display, committee meetings have been scheduled and conducted, the plans for the Annual Installation Dinner and Civics Award Ceremony were executed and a Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening for the Chamber has been scheduled.
