University Village

What are the plans?

  • This new village will consist of:

    • housing
    • retail
    • restaurants
    • offices
    • a boutique hotel
  • The university village will be adjacent to the University campus and the University Station.

  • The village will be located on 30 acres on the southern side of the University and it will be accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.

Why is this beneficial to Redlands?

  • A similar project developed at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte helped that school double its enrollment during an 18-year period.
  • It will reduce traffic and parking and save the city money in the long run. It will also make it easier for people to get on and off campus.

  • The village will be located on 30 acres on the southern side of the University and it will  be accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • It would also reduce air pollution, eliminate urban sprawl and create a public gathering place for the city as well as the university similar to a European village green
