SEPT 2016 – Redlands Chamber shines a light on local restaurants during Cruisin’ Cuisine September 17th
The Redlands Chamber of Commerce shines a light on local restaurants, during Cruisin’ Cuisine September 17th.
While many communities enjoy a “Taste of…” events, often local restaurants are housed under a big tent or in a large meeting hall, where they serve guests from steaming chaffing dishes. Six years ago the Redlands Chamber decided to showcase the local eateries but have guests visit the restaurants to learn firsthand the locations, ambiance and atmosphere offered. Attendees check in at the Chamber office on the evening off, trade tickets for passports and wander off on foot seeking out participating food providers and sampling the very best Redlands has to offer.
“This is the best kind of promotion.” said Chamber President, Jill Riley. “We learn firsthand where the restaurants are. We get to taste amazing samplings, and I can’t think of a better way to enjoy downtown Redlands.”
Ten restaurants are featured including Oscars Mexican Food, Bratworks, The Royal Falconer, Sizzlers, Dhat Island Caribbean Food, Alfaro’s Catering, The Thai House, Corner Bakery, The Spaghetti Factory and Isabella’s Ristorante Italiano. For restaurants and caterers that are not within walking distance, downtown businesses will host, making the event completely pedestrian friendly.
Each guest carries a passport to be signed by the participating host or hostess. At the end of the evening passports are returned to the Chamber office and entered into a drawing for the grand prize, an Apple I-pad Air, provided by Paul and Joann Barich, Barich & Associates.
Tickets are $40 per person and available through the chamber office, 793-2546.
Why just go to one restaurant on a Saturday night out….when you can go to ten!!!!!
