AUG 2017 – Chamber and City come together

The City and Chamber come together to present a spectacular New Year’s Eve Celebration!

The Redlands Chamber, partnering with the City of Redlands, and sponsored by Mirau, Edward, Cannon, Lewin & Tooke, will ring in 2018 in grand fashion in downtown Redlands. For the first time ever, patterned after New York’s Time Square Ball Drop, the Redlands “drop” will reflect our culture using a spectacularly lighted Orange, dropped at the stroke of midnight!

Suspended over the crowds that will gather on Citrus, State and Orange Streets, the Orange Drop count-down with a D J, celebrity MCs, and dance music will showcase our local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more.

For those that want a more traditional evening, a VIP affair will be hosted at The Speakeasy on State, offering dining, dancing and revelry, preferred parking, and a private “Orange Drop” viewing area. Tickets will be available through Event Brite found on the Speakeasy on State web site www.speakeasyonstate.com, with reservations beginning in October.

Local hotels will be offering special New Year’s Eve packages, including transportation to and from the hotels to downtown Redlands.

Downtown bars and restaurants will serve up their signature specialties, including Orange Drop Martini’s and all things orange.

To help map out the celebration strategy a directory of all participating businesses will be available.

“The Chamber has been toying with the idea of creating this spectacular event for a number of years.” said Tiffany Jiles, Committee Chairperson. “When we learned that the city was creating a focus on the holiday season we thought that, in partnership, this would be the perfect way to see in 2018 and begin a tradition in Redlands.”
