The James Beard Foundation relief fund for small, independent resources that need additional funding due to COVID-19.
Grants ranging from $500-$50,000 to small and medium sized nonprofits. To apply: must have 501(c)(3) status and be currently providing critical services to individuals and families significantly affected by COVID-19.
This one-time matching grant is for small businesses who need funds to care for employees and cover operations.
- Must create a fundraiser or have an existing GoFundMe
- Applicant must raise $500
For members of the Restaurant Workers’ Community. Relief allocated in the following ways: 50% for direct relief to individual restaurant workers, 25% for nonprofit organizations serving restaurant workers in crisis, 25% for zero-interest loans.
Apply for grants of up to $10,000
The two week window to submit your application has closed for the United States.
For applicants who won’t be able to receive a grant, Facebook will be providing new resources soon.

The National Science Foundation is investing in non-medical, non-clinical-care research that can be used immediately to explore how to model and understand the spread of COVID-19, to inform and educate about the science of virus transmission and prevention, and to encourage the development of processes and actions to address this global challenge. In addition to the standard mechanisms, specific COVID-19-specific solicitations are open calling from proposals from academic, other non-profit, and for-profit organizations.
