In the fall, the Redlands Community Foundation, in partnership with the A.K. Smiley Public Library, hosted a virtual series of “Zoominars,” providing viewers with tips and tricks for navigating the current virtual operations that Zoom provided. Now, as the economy begins to rebound from the pandemic, the Redlands Community Foundation is launching a second virtual series for the community: “Job Search Strategies for the Digital Professional – Even if You Aren’t One Yet.”
The idea behind this new series is that there are a lot of creative avenues out there for landing a job. Helping those who do not know how to go about looking for work with modern technology by teaching them the things they need to know may be beneficial. COVID-19 has erased many jobs from the community, and nationally, and as we slowly eradicate Covid, hopefully more and more work will become available again. So, whether community members are unemployed and looking now, or will be in “job search mode” a few months from now, this series seems like a well-timed topic, offering strategies from experts in the field. Additionally, we also have college students seeking work and recently graduated students who have now entered the workforce. This series of workshops will also address local workforce development efforts, increasing and keeping qualified workers in our area.
This series of Zoom webinars is presented by the Redlands Chamber of Commerce and the Redlands Community Foundation as a gift to the community and will feature one webinar a week for four weeks, beginning Thursday, May 27th at 4pm. Information can be found each week on the Chamber’s and RCF’s social media pages.
The third video features Keven Eldridge of San Bernardino County EDA. Sign-up here to view the video on Thursday, June 10th at 4:00pm.
