JAN 2012 – City To Hold Free Small Business Workshop Series

The City of Redlands will present a free monthly Small Business Workshop series, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Each two-hour workshop is designed to help small businesses in areas such as starting a small business, marketing and financing. The workshops are co-sponsored by SCORE Inland Empire.

The sessions will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St. Additional sessions are scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 29 and March 28.           After the  premier Mixinar in September the Young Professionals Network has been planning the next stellar event and are pleased to announce their partnership with Empire Bowl, 940 Colton Ave., in Redlands, for the next YPN Mixinar Thursday, February 9th, 6 to 8 PM

“We were extremely pleased with the success of the first Mixinar” noted YPN Chairperson, Megan Barich. “That event was sold out and we expect the same of this one. We have a larger facility and can accommodate a larger number of young professionals this time around. JAN 2012 – Chamber puts together Small Business Committee to focus on economic growth and retention

Under the direction of Board Member Jennifer Dobbs the Chamber has established a Small Business Committee that will reach out to the businesses in Redlands connecting with businesspeople and agencies in an effort to improve local economic conditions.

The Small Business Committee will conduct Business Walks throughout the city. Scores of volunteers will hit the streets to visit businesses on fact finding missions, returning to debrief and triage concerns to professionals who can bring solutions as soon as possible.

“Knowledge is power”. Said Chamber President Paul Barich “When Jennifer proposed the idea to the Board and explained the Business Walk concept we embraced it. It was an opportunity for the Chamber to reach out to the business community in Redlands and to get instant feedback.”

The Business Walks will become an integral part of the Chamber’s economic development core competency focusing on keeping businesses strong.
